Services: Our program services empower adults 55 and over who are experiencing vision loss to remain living independently in their own homes. Our staff is growing and expanding with two IL Counselors who are bilingual English/Spanish, and one IL Counselor who specializes in Adaptive Diabetic Equipment (ADE) training for older adults who are now having to manage their diabetes with vision loss. All program services are delivered FREE of charge to program participants, and are designed to meet the individuals needs and situation. An in-home visit is conducted to evaluate specific needs and services of each person, and once completed, Independent Living Skills (ILS) training and resources can be provided in such areas as assistive technology, advocacy, activities of daily living, transportation, information and referral, peer support and service coordination.
