Layoff Aversion &
Rapid Response Assistance

Change is stressful and losing valued employees is difficult.

The Rapid Response Program is designed to help businesses make potential layoffs less traumatic
for their employees and less costly to their business. The Orange County Business Solutions team
quickly responds to layoffs, business closures, and natural disasters by coordinating customized and
confidential services and providing immediate aid to affected companies and their workers.

Benefits to Employers Include:

Rapid Response presentations give employers an opportunity to provide affected employees with vital resources that help them get reemployed as soon as possible and or connect with supportive services to ease this difficult transition.

The presentations are provided at no cost and cover the following topics:

  • Assistance programs for the affected employees

  • Free career center services at the Workforce Solutions (formerly One-Stop) Centers

  • Rapid re-employment opportunities

  • Applying for unemployment insurance benefits

  • What happens to retirement and health benefits during this transition


The Rapid Response team will coordinate all the details, and all we need from you is a space to present and for you to let your employees know when and where.

Our team consists of:

  • Business Services team Rapid Response coordinator

  • A representative from the State of California’s Employment Development Department (EDD)

  • A certified financial planner


Providing resources to help with the affected employees’ layoff transition has multiple employer benefits including:
